Before you is al-Ibanah, the final creedal work of Imam Abul-Hasan al-Ash’ari (may Allah have mercy upon him), in which he clarified the foundations of the Religion and affirmed his adherence to the Book, the Sunnah, and the way of the Salaf from among the Companions, the Tabi’in, and the Imams of Hadith. Concerning this work, Ibn al-‘Imad stated: “It is the last of the books that he wrote, and it is what his companions rely on when defending him from those who attack him.”
